Making Connections, One Visit at a Time—

The Trainset in Weston.

The Platinum Care+ Team · March 2026

Some visits stay with you. This is one of them. Our team sat around a table in Weston, shared a meal with one of our most cherished clients, and were introduced to a hand-built train collection that took decades to create — and about thirty seconds to fall in love with.

There is a version of home care that is transactional. Scheduled, documented, delivered, and complete. We have never been interested in that version. Last spring, Timothy, Brenda, our Operations Manager Joann, and John’s dedicated caregiver Madrine visited John at his home in Weston. They brought a Chinese feast — enough for a proper celebration — and sat around his table the way you would sit around a family table. No agenda. No clipboard. Just people who care about each other, sharing a meal. After lunch, John did something that said everything about who he is. He brought the team to see his train set. It is not a casual hobby. Over decades, John has hand-built an extraordinary model train collection — a masterpiece of precision, patience, and love. Track by track, car by car, detail by painstaking detail. When he showed it to the team, his eyes lit up in the way that only happens when someone is sharing something they truly love. His excitement was, as Brenda later put it, absolutely contagious. For us, that moment was not a bonus — it was the point. Exceptional care is not just about what we do for someone’s body. It is about understanding who they are, what they have built, what brings their eyes to life. John’s trains are part of who John is. And knowing that — honoring that — is what makes care at Platinum Care+ feel different to the families we serve. We left that afternoon full — in every sense of the word. And deeply grateful for the privilege of being in John’s home, at his table, and in his life. This is why we do this work.
